About PH

PH Plasticos Hoyos is the brainchild of Claudio Hoyos. Claudio was born on October 13th 1976, in Lima, Peru.  His grandfather, Alberto Hoyos, owned a plastic toy factory that was located next to the residence where Claudio grew up.

Alberto worked together with Claudio’s father, Luis Hoyos, and founded Plasticos Hoyos company late in the 1970s. The company grew successfully, carried by the family, during the 1980s, building innovative plastic toys for kids, and at one point supported more than 300 employees.

From an early stage, Claudio grew fascinated playing with Lego's, building blocks, and learning about machinery that made toys. He knew he wanted to become an engineer, and emphasized his creativity inventing original devices from scratch.

During the early 1990’s, Peru went thru an economic/political crisis that made most private companies close down, including Claudio’s grandfather’s company. But, before this happened, Claudio's parents made the decision to immigrate to the U.S. to start a new life with hopes of a better future.

Claudio went to Temple City High School during the mid 90's, and continued his studies in engineering discipline at the California Polytechnic University State of Pomona, acquiring his degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2003.

In 2009, he founded PH Plasticos Hoyos, a new journey in his life, a business inspired by his grandfather and early mentor. Claudio continued focusing on developing valuable, innovative products, and providing engineering consulting services, similarly to how Alberto once did, successfully.
